زمینه و هدف: حفظ صحت و یکپارچگی قوس دندانی در دوره دندانی شیری و مختلط جهت برقراری اکلوژن وفانکشن در دوره دندانهای دائمی جزء لازم و ضروری می باشد.دلایل اولیه از دست رفتن زودرس دندانها در کودکان می تواند مربوط به پوسیدگی های دندانی وتروما باشد. مجاورت پوسیدگی وتروما به بافت پالپ ممکن است منجر به  التهاب پالپ و یا حتی نکروز آن گردد.در این مقاله مروری به پروسیژرهای درمان پالپ که به طور شایعی در دندانپزشکی کودکان استفاده می شوند و همچنین به اندیکاسیون ها و مواد درمانی شایع مربوط به درمان پالپ پرداخته خواهد شد.
روش بررسی:با واژه های کلیدی نظیردرمان پالپ،دندانهای شیری،دندانهای دائمی جوان وکودکان در سایتهای Pubmed,Google,Scopus,Medline جستجو از سال 1975تا2016 انجام شد.
یافته ها:هدف اصلی درمان حفظ حیات پالپ دندانی است که تحت تاثیر پوسیدگی, تروما وسایر موارد قرار گرفته است. باید تلاش هر چه بیشتر در جهت حفظ حیات پالپ دندانهای شیری و به خصوص در دندانهای دائمی نابالغ گردد. حیات پالپ منجربه تکامل مطلوب نسبت تاج به ریشه، بسته شدنآپکس ریشه و تشکیل عاج رادیکولار ثانویه می گردد.
نتیجه گیری:هدف ازدرمان پالپ حفظ حیات پالپ دندانی است که در اثر پوسیدگی، تروما وبه علل دیگر تحت تاثیر قرار گرفته است. در صورت رعایت دقیق اصول درمان و نیز پوشاندن آن با یک ماده زیست سازگار امکان ترمیم پالپ وجود دارد.
